JEEP CJ-3B HISTORY

Willys CJ  significantly improved on January 28, 1953 with the CJ-3B,  the first CJ, very different style from its military predecessor, the Willys MB. The CJ-3B was higher hood to make room for the "Hurricane"  engine with higher distribution valves.

If ever there was a complaint from the CJ-2A and CJ-3A was due to lack of power. The new engine ended with such a complaint. The valve timing engine in F, designed by Barney Roos, generated 25% more horsepower and 9% more torque.

The brand new engine was combined with a transfer case designed to provide durability and quieter operation.

The CJ-3B was produced for fifteen years. By 1968, more than 155,000 were sold. In addition, in 1951 was made an exclusive CJ-4, a hybrid M38 Series and CJ-5 would appear soon.

JEEP FC-150 HISTORY

In a bold departure from previous designs, Willys Motors introduced its highly maneuverable series Forward-Control (FC) Jeep wheel drive trucks. Jeep FC-150 had a unique cab over engine design that created an appearance of flat front without hood. While his style of "front cabin" did not have much in common with the body design of the traditional Jeep FC-150 was made on existing CJ-5 chassis.

Basically duty trucks, Jeep vehicles with cab over engine came in two models: FC 150 with wheelbase of 81 inches and valve timing engine with four-cylinder in F and FC 170 with wheelbase of 103.5 inches and engine valve timing in L and six cylinders.

Both models included the box, platform, chassis and cab, plus various special editions. The FC-170 is also offered in a version with dual rear wheels for heavy work.

"More cargo space and less wheelbase! And going anywhere!" advertising by FC at that time. And really it was, thanks to FC-150/170, workers and farmers had a vehicle that could go almost anywhere (on his radio eighteen feet) and carry a load

The vans were extremely practical, with low platforms that facilitated the loading and unloading, and were very popular in international markets.
