J-SERIES TRUCK

JEEP 1963-1987 GLADIATOR - J-SERIES TRUCK

The vans bali Gladiator's size shared the same platform and powertrain front style with Wagoneer.

The Gladiator was available in 120-inch (J-200) or 126-inch (J-300), and had a Dana 20 transfer case and front and rear Dana 44s. A strong independent front suspension was available in half-ton trucks until 1965 but used a more robust front differential 44IFS.

The available settings include: Thriftside (narrow box), Townside (wide box), chassis or cab, platform, crane rescue, and camper roofs installed in the chassis with extended wheelbases.

In 1965, the Gladiator J-200 and J-300 is known as J-3000 and -2000 respectively. The Gladiator name was no longer used in 1971, and after that line of trucks became known as J-Series in 1987.

In 2005, it introduced a new Gladiator concept vehicle as a prototype of the possible direction that could take the Jeep brand in the near future.
