HISTORY of : JEEP COMMANDER (XK), JEEP COMPASS and JEEP PATRIOT
JEEP COMMANDER (XK) HISTORY
The 2006 Jeep Commander was the first seven-passenger Trail Rated 4x4.
Based on the platform of the Grand Cherokee (WK) '05, rectangular
Commander was a little longer than the WK (two inches), but a stepped roof
three inches taller and stadium-style layout gave room for additional seating
in the rear. Rectangular Commander
design with square upright windshield and side immediately distinguishes him
from his cousin.
The basic characteristics and
powertrain energy were the same as the Grand Cherokee. Like most 4x4
Jeep models, the commander had the Jeep Trail Rated emblem. To get the Trail
Rated, a vehicle must meet the standard performances of traction, ground
clearance, maneuverability and the ability to walk.
