 THE JEEP COMPASS CROSSOVER REVIEW

Jeep Compass CROSSOVER

There are 3 trims  of Jeep Compass CROSSOVER
  • Crossover 2.0 Sport 2WD
  • Crossover 2.4 4WD Limited
  • Crossover 2.2 CRD Limited 4WD
Unlike the other Jeeps, Jeep Compass is available with both front and 4-wheel drive.
Even 4-wheel drives end all power to the front wheels in normal driving to help fuel   exertion ; It is only when detect a wheel slip, that power will automatically backwards.
No matter how, you can lock in all-wheel-drive mode by pulling a lever, its between the front seats. It divides power between the rear and front  to optimize traction.
Any compass comes with a three-year/60,000 km warranty that covers unlimited mileage for the first two years.

Performance :
Fans of fuel may have a car Fwd 2.0 liter with a  or a 4-wheels drive 2.4 with a transmit variable Transmission. However, the 2.1-litre four-wheel drive diesel (which is badged as a 2.2) makes more sense. It feels flat below 1400 rpm, but strong enough later.
Ride handling :
The diesel four wheel drive is rated to tow a huge 2000kg braked trailer, while 20-degree approach and departure should help in the rough. Unfortunately, the compass fails to show best points on the road. hard in turns and is equipped to be incompatible. The ride is rather knobbly, too.
Refinement :
This is another area where the compass remains well below the best SUV. Its diesel engine seems still surly, but it becomes especially hoarse when work you hard. You feel also vibrations through the clutch pedal, while the road noise intrudes on coarse surfaces and participates the wind noise at highway speeds.
Buying & owning :
The price of the compass is  to undercut rivals such as the Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan. However, he falls a little of their fuel consumption and CO2 issues. It's to be expensive to service, and resale values are low.
Quality  reliability :
The areas where you could rest your elbows are padded. Too bad, the rest of the cabin is made of plastic hard, unpleasant, and the switchgear doesn't feel not particularly chic. Jeep also has a poor record in our reliability surveys.
Safety Security :
Any compass has six airbags, stability control and a system that can brake individual wheels to stop the car roll over. In addition, active Front headrests are fitted to minimize whiplash injuries in a rear-end shunt. Unfortunately, however, the car marked a disappointing two stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. An engine immobilizer and alarm make life difficult for thieves.

Jeep Compass CROSSOVER

For :
The Jeep Compass is cheaper to buy that rivals major, and each version is well equipped. Four-wheel drive versions should be enough off-road.
Against :
However the road and bad handling, and it has noisy diesel engine. There are too many good plastic market-feeling and the wheel does not adjust the scope.

Jeep Compass CROSSOVER review :

  • Ride & direction : Ride knobbly and  inconsistent treatment
