History of Jeep Wagoneer



JEEP WAGONEER - GRAND WAGONEER -CHEROKEE
In 1962, the Jeep introduced the Wagoneer as a new model in 1963. Jeep Wagoneer is the father of luxury 4x4 SUV. Replacement of utility lines Willys wagon, the Wagoneer was designed to make a passenger car styling, comfort  with the benefits of four-wheel drive (4WD).

The revolutionary Wagoneer, it was full of innovation. Wagoneer, as the first automatic 4X4 vehicle, the first engine camshaft six-cylinder truck, the first 4x4 vehicle with independent frontt suspension, the first automatic full-time 4WD. The revolutionary Quadra-Trac 4WD, introduced in 1973, and it was available in wagons  and full-size Jeep trucks, and the CJ-7.

It was Brooks Steven, the famous industrial designer , Who designed the Wagoneer, captured the public's needed with its  attractive and modern appearance. The entire vehicle line "Senior" (SJ) included trucks and J-Series Gladiator, Wagoneer Station Wagon, first panel cast and Cherokee models.

SJ line production for 28 years, only with few changes, and when it ceased production, had the longest continuous production, in U.S. automotive history.

in 1984, the Wagoneer was renamed to the Grand Wagoneer, to coincide with the presentation of the models Wagoneer and Cherokee (XJ) sizes.
