2008 Jeep Commander SUV

Introduction :
The Jeep Commander 2008 SUV, largely an extension of the 2007 model year, is available in three versions, Sport, Limited and Overland, and is available as a vehicle rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Great people mover Jeep is back for its third year of production. This is the only seven-seat SUV in the Jeep lineup, and it bears the burden of providing rugged off-road capability with premium features and comfort for the whole family.

What's New for 2008 :
Engine and include improvements are in store for the 2008 Jeep Commander SUV With the 4.7-liter V8 engine is considerably better powerful this year but is slightly more fuel efficient. The off-road technology and versatility are enhanced with Hill Descent Control and Hill Assist electronic aids to driving under the Quadra-Drive II four-wheel drive to start. Inside, the commander can accommodate five passengers available for the first time. To entertain the troops, the commander of this year can now be done with the MyGIG infotainment system and hard drive "" and Sirius Backseat TV.

Review :
Although its blocky exterior styling is clearly influenced by the beautifull Cherokee 1980s and 1990s, the commander is related to the Grand Cherokee. Same wheelbase rides, with a little longer and in particular greater. The height gain, in particular, allows the addition of rear seats and bleachers seat folding third row flat 50-50.
For 2008, the Jeep Commander receives some significant changes. Under the hood you will find a revised 4.7-liter V8 engine in version option. It is now 305 horsepower, a huge increase of 70 hp 4.7-liter V8 from last year. Jeep has even said that the new engine is slightly more fuel efficient (although the fuel consumption is still pretty grim). The base V6 and top-shelf 5.7-liter V8 remains, but we believe that the vast majority of consumers will be pleased with 4.7-liter V8 engine.

Inside the quiet and simple design has new technology updates. Increasingly common MyGIG entertainment system Chrysler navigation system hard drive can also store and play digital music files, replaced the old system DVD navigation. There is Sirius Backseat TV, which 3 channels of kid-friendly entertainment & education for rear seat. But it's too bad, there is no NFL Network for dad, asem banget mbokan??

While these changes are welcome, the 2008 Jeep Commander is still suffering from problems he had from the start. More importantly, the loading capacity is meager for this vehicle segment and the third row of seats - the only reason for the commander in the first place - is cramped and suitable for small children only. Meanwhile, the large and robust suspension height does not make the car any favors in terms of behavior on the road. Although still a good choice for a customer wanting true off-road capability plus the ability to seven passengers, we believe that most consumers will be better off with more well-rounded midsize SUV choices like the Ford Explorer and Toyota 4Runner. And if the capacity of seven passengers is a priority, crossovers like GMC Acadia and Mazda CX-9 are also excellent choices.

Advantages and disadvantages :
  • With a new V8 engines, its feel more comfortable and quiet interior in any off-road situations, many luxury features and better entertainment.
  • The commander must be attractive to families who need a four-wheel drive capability for camping, vacations,or other challenging winters.
  • It's rugged SUV that can tackle off-road terrain, but is also adorned with high-end features, you need seating for seven years.
  • If your goal is simply to seven seats, buy a van.
  • We're having a hard time figuring out who he is meant to appeal to - and whether they will actually find appealing. If it is a robust, well-equipped SUV, the commander seems to be a strange mix. Is it a vehicle for toting the family around (a militarized minivan), or is it a machine of rugged mountains for a gaggle of guys? In response to both, we think it can not call enough for both groups.
