In 1962, the Jeep introduced the Wagoneer as a new model in 1963. Jeep Wagoneer is the father of luxury 4x4 SUV. Replacement of utility lines Willys wagon, the Wagoneer was designed to make a passenger car styling, comfort with the benefits of four-wheel drive (4WD).

in 1984, the Wagoneer was renamed to the Grand Wagoneer, to coincide with the presentation of the models Wagoneer and Cherokee (XJ) sizes.
